I am a Bibbulmun Noongar and Kungarakan (First Nations Australian) conceptual artist.

My interests in research and knowledge of both pre and post colonial histories informs my writing, performance and visual work.

2023 saw Australia decide against constitutional recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) Peoples, their occupation of these lands and waters and proposal of an Indigenous advisory body for Parliament. The sheer scale of such a rejection of Australia’s most disadvantaged minority group has been overwhelming and life-changing for ATSI People and our valued allies. It was out of our hands.

I’ve since decided to detach my attention from the anguish of colonisation and refocus on cultural identity that is not intertwined with suffering.

I am committed to creating space for celebration, yarning, healing and productivity for Mob and allies come 2024, with social practice, building community and strengthening our identity.

Always was, always will be, Aboriginal land.
